How coaching paved the way to an EMBA

Currently serving as the Head of IT, Europe at KONE, Kristiina's journey with Hanken & SSE Executive Education began during a pivotal moment in her career. Following her transition from a previous position, she received executive career coaching from our experienced coach, Virva Laherto. This coaching provided her with a valuable opportunity to reflect on her career priorities and values.

“The executive career coaching gave me an opportunity and place to discuss and debate my priorities and what things I value most in my career,” Kristiina shares. It was during these coaching sessions that the idea of possibly pursuing the Hanken Executive MBA programme came up. “I was first a bit hesitant,” Kristiina admits, “but then I started thinking that this could be a good investment in my future career and my growth, and I decided to take up this opportunity as well.”

When asked about the value she gained from the programme, Kristiina highlights, “The conversations and the teamwork we did with the other students, that was most valuable. I did also enjoy the module in Germany at ESMT Berlin. That was very good and insightful.”

Reflecting on her development as a person, leader, and decision-maker, Kristiina says, “I would hope at least that I’d be more insightful and embracing the change as a leader after I have completed my studies with EMBA.”
